Even though the expression goes - April showers bring May flowers... Mother Nature is a little off schedule, and we are expecting rain, tomorrow. Fortunately, we in the Treehouse are positive problem-solvers, and have moved the lunchtime pizza party to our indoor learning community space.
If you are wondering how you can help, please bring a picnic blanket or large towel to use for our indoor picnic style lunch. We look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow! Dear Treehouse families,
This year, we engaged in action research to find better ways to connect our writing instruction between school and home. Please help us know what worked and what we can change by completing this survey. We will be using your feedback to inform our methods of communication for next year, and truly value your input! Thank you taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback! We appreciate it! You can access the survey by clicking on the link below: Writing Feedback – End of Year Parent Survey Warmly, The Treehouse Team Dear 5th grade families,
We look forward to seeing the 5th graders' presentations on Monday! You are welcome to attend! We’ve asked the 5th graders to dress “professionally” for this momentous occasion – they can bring a change of clothes to change into after their presentation. How can you help? Each student will have access to their speech on hand-written notecards, inserted in their Google Slides, and/or on their original Presentation Planning Google Doc (located in their 5th grade Writing Classroom). You can encourage them to practice their presentation speech at least a few times each day. This can happen at home, or even in the car! Your fifth grader can run through their lines of their presentation with you, with another family member, in front of a mirror, or even in front of the family pet or stuffed animal. If they feel comfortable, you can video them "practice presenting" so that they can play it back and see how they did. Make it fun, and keep it positive! They have worked hard on their project artifacts, and are excited to present their culminating capstone project on Monday! The schedule is posted below, and you are free to attend your child's presentation. Please make sure you are on time so that you can support your child from beginning to end. If you have any further questions, please email your child's writing teacher. We have two special End-of-Year traditions for our Treehouse kiddos : The 5th Grade Slideshow and The Treehouse Slideshow!
Our 5th Grade Slideshow will debut from 10:30-10:55 AM as the last event for Peek Across the Creek on Wednesday, May 24th in the Da Vinci Studio. We are asking 5th Grade families to upload baby/childhood pictures HERE. Our Treehouse Slideshow will debut on the last day of school, uploaded to youtube, and shared right here on our blog. We are asking all Treehouse families to upload pictures from THIS school year HERE. Thank you for all you do! As our Book Fair is approaching, we are desperate need of volunteers! This is such an important event for our community and we need your help! Please sign up HERE or email Erin Cooke at [email protected] with times you can help out!
We are so excited that the time has come for our 5th graders to present their end-of-year presentations to a panel of judges and family! This is a monumental moment in the lives of our 5th graders as they wrap up their elementary career and move onto middle school. We highly encourage families to come and watch their student shine!
